Breaking News: Fl. Man gets DOOM running inside Microsoft Notepad at 60fps

Clearwater, Florida: Florida man strikes again by programming the popular first-person shooter game Doom to run at native 60 frames per second on Microsoft Notepad, to the surprise of many. Sam Chiet, believed to 32, created a clone of the popular video game in response to hype around his YouTube channel, where he was previously famous for being the last remaining developer for the Xbox Kinect, which was discontinued in 2016 due to low sales and lack of developer interest. Chiet is famous for other programming videos as well and goes by the pseudonym Samperson on Youtube and Patreon.

Gamers everywhere reacted with excitement to the news. "Soon we will be able to run Doom on a wooden plank," wrote Norman Davis. "Now you've done it! You have totally Doomed notepad!" wrote Barry Nelson.

Chiet says he plans to release future videos and documentation on his YouTube channel to outline his development process and insists that the development is real and has not been faked in any capacity. "This is fully playable interactive live, zero fakery. This is exactly what it looks like. The footage is not sped up, and I have not modified the code of notepad.exe at all," he states.

While the logic behind the project is still questionable, the milestone does represent advancement in future development technologies and opens the door for development work for games on less conventional platforms. It is likely that this step also will advance game development on less expensive computers, providing more cost-effective options for gamers who want to explore PC gaming.
